Most mothers and fathers spend a lot of quality time chasing their tiny tot around the home. However, the exercise benefits of having a child don’t have to stop there. A bike trailer is a child seat that is mounted to the back of a bike. It allows you to ride a bicycle and carry your toddler along for the ride. As parents, you can no longer use the baby excuse for slacking off on your exercise!

A bike seat is designed to be attached to either the front or behind a bicycle; however, a bike trailer is designed to be safer for your baby. The trailer is designed in such a way that it is attached to the bike’s rear axle or frame. This provides additional support which is a better and much safer design.

Using a trailer is an inventive way to get mobile, however it is only recommended for children between the ages of one and six years. The reason for this restriction is that a younger child is not developed enough to withstand the forces that occur naturally when biking. Also, trailers are only recommended for children that are below 100 pounds which is the maximum weight it can safely hold.

What should you look for when purchasing a bike trailer? The feature you should look at is the sturdiness and durability of the trailer. The windows should be tinted to prevent your child from being overly exposed to the sun and the interior should be comfortable and easy to clean. Another factor to consider is that it should have a wide wheel base which would ensure the stability of the bike.

Besides ensuring the construction of the trailer, you also have to inspect the condition of your bike to make sure it is capable to holding the extra load.

We have a wide range of trailers with every type and brand available. You will no doubt find the perfect one for your outdoor adventures, so make sure to check out our trailers.
